I've just started doing this for my cat, but my vets have now imposed a
repeat prescription charge on a "x1" basis. Before that, previous ordering
was by phone to the surgery and collection of Metacam every month. They only
saw the cat at it's annual inspection for the booster jab etc., so I can't
quite see how this additional expense is justified, although I understand
they are now allowed to do this.

Is there any way around this problem as they won't increase the prescription
to "x3" or "x6"

Coming in the credit crunch, and on top of a big increase in the cat
insurance, is there any way I can buy it online without prescription?

Many thanks

I think the justification is "they are now allowed to do this". We are
all going to discover new ways to spend whatever is left. I just read
that veterinary services will be taxed in California.
