Then you would only have heard small hints of Greek mythology and
the >> Knights of Malta.
how much do myths and the knights of Malta affect the experience now?

Still a good bit. They make quite a lot of the Ulysses thing. I
should think most of the ancient architecture and ruins are 12th-14th
c. I read that there is quite a lt of prehistoric stuff, which I
didn't knw about. Nature is a big deal. Walking is encouraged and
easy. I suppose you could row your own boat to the other island, but
thought I would not.

Gozo has a regular ferry. I think Comino has too but perhaps not so
regularly as it is very small.

Gozo had a car ferry, but Comino only had a foot ferry when I was there.

But.. they are still ferries innit? Smile)

Since no one lives on Comino, is it only to see the ruins that there is a
ferry?

Well, unless things have changed, people did live on Comino. No proper
roads, just cart tracks but live there people did. I will check with my
friend. Do you wish me to ask about good food places?

I read that on the site someone posted. It said it was now uninhabited.

I am discouraged by the rain, so I will probably go in better weather. I'm
still very interested, but this December trip will probably not be Malta,
because I was looking for some relief from winter gloom.

But don't take my word for it. it has been mumble mumble years since I
have been there. Things change.

The Navy ran a boat service, on the lines of a bus serve. The boat would
come, you would hop on and get off at the place you want. It stopped off at
St Angelo and Bighi and then the round trip back to Grand Harbour.

OK. I have written to my friend about places to eat local food. I will
pass it on when I get a response.

The message <6o27aiF1fm0gU1@mid.individual.net>
from "Giusi" <decobabeone@yahoo.com> contains these words:

Quote:

It has a hotel, holiday homes and 4 year-round residents, according to

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comino.

The neighbouring island Cominetto is uninhabited.

Janet.

Ah that is part of the beauty of Malta.
