In central NC, the vultures are gathering. In a month or so, there
will be about 100 circling slowly above the top of the hill in late
afternoon. Many perch in two trees; it looks like it underneath.
I wondered where they went; haven't seen a TV in northern Ohio in two
or three weeks.

The same thing seems to have happened here in N Central WV. The flock
of Turkey Vultures that had been hanging around here for about three
weeks has suddenly moved on.

Let's see now. We are located a few miles north of Boston, Massachusetts.
During the first of November, we have observed in our back and front yards:
goldfinches
white-breasted nuthatches
english sparrows (House Sparrows)
crows
grackles
downey woodpeckers
blue jays
red-tailed hawk (perches on distant tree watching other birds, squirrels,
chipmunks etc)
mourning doves
pigeons
black-capped chickadees
tufted titmouse
cardinals
slate-colored juncos
Most of whom frequent our birdfeeders or on the ground under our
birdfeeders.

Not many birds in the past few weeks. Don't know if it's because of that
darn white cat or just that time of the year.
