And I'll be looking after my Grand kids who do not what to hunt--(with a
gun). She is still waiting for a bow/arrow setup. The most fun is in the
stalk. :)

I bowhunt here in the Ozarks, but what do you hide behind in ND? :)

Hi all,

I've hunted pheasants and grouse, but I'm too tender hearted to hunt deer.
I'll just watch the suburban deer in my back yard. I do, however, love the
deer sausage that my brother in law gives us every Christmas.
BTW: MajorOz, if you don't mind me asking, were you in the US Air Force
or the ANG?

oz, who takes the g-kids with him in the woods whenever he can
One has to climb a tree or be in very timbered country--most of the

river valleys have lots of cover.

Thank you. I was in the Minnesota ANG for 6 years and I remember those

summer "vacations" when we flew on C97s. That would make me an older
gentleman. :-)

It was 1962-1967. So, which one of us is the "older" gentleman? Smile

Back in the days when my bird identification skills were in their infancy,

my wife and I were sitting on the back deck and we spotted some ducks
landing in trees. Ducks don't usually land in trees ... unless they're Wood Ducks.
For some reason my neighbor had erected some squirrel houses, which are
identical to Wood Duck houses except the opening is on the side. The Wood Ducks
checked out every house, only to be greeted by resident squirrels.

Musings on a cold and rainy day,
Dick
