This is from DJ Particle, the unofficial Funny 25 point-counting
person from DementiaRadio.org:
Basically, the way things are right now, assuming that December's Top
10 (if any) will be all Xmas songs, and assuming the same inverse-
point system applies, only these 4 songs stand a chance of making #1
of 2008 with their current rankings:
1) Fish Heads - Barnes & Barnes (28 points)
2) Robots - Flight of the Conchords (25 points)
3) 99 Words For Boobs - Robert Lund & Spaff.com (20 points)
4) Hold On, I've Got To Take This - Power Salad (19 points)
Looking at the biggest longshot among the 4, Power Salad needs either
#2 or #1 in November to have a chance at #1 (9 points will point-tie
it with Fish Heads if B&B don't appear next month...in my tiebreaking
system that would make Power Salad at #1 since they have the newer
song, but the Doc may break ties differently)

What this means is, at least unofficially, if everyone reading this
starts requesting "Hold On, I've Got To Take This", we have a chance
at the #1 spot on this year's Funny 25! A longshot chance, but a
chance nonetheless...
So if you would please, when you are done reading this post, please
please PLEASE head over to www.drdemento.com and enter a request for
the tune!!??!! Pretty please with blue agave syrup on top?
Please start requesting it now, and I believe one request per week is
counted IINM, not to go crazy or anything (I remember the ballot box/
rock n roll hall of fame flap!!!) But still.....
Thanks SO much for all your support over the years, we are heading
into 2009 with a few cons already on the books and perhaps a new
album, we shall see, gotta finish getting Spitting Otter Studios
renovated....

Hey, wait a minute. What you're saying is that "99 Words for Boobs"
has a shot at #1. Which is where it WOULD have finished LAST year had
it not been for that bastard Devo Death. (Er, Sudden Spice.) Look,
HERE'S an idea: Go correct last year's gross miscarriage of justice by
making "99 Words for Boobs" #1 THIS year. This is a holy war, my
friends, for the very soul of Dementia. Make your voice heard.
Heh heh. Of course Devo Spice deserved it last year. And Power Salad
deserves everything they get too. These are very funny people whose
autographs I have collected like a giddy little fanboy. I'm happy just
to be here. But I'll tell you what: Apparently Robert Lund's
"Shakespearean Pie" is teetering on the brink of making it into the
Funny 25. One more showing *anywhere* in a monthly Top 10 and it
should make it in. And "Shakespearean Pie" is my favorite Robert Lund
song because it shows that the lyricist (me) is capable of writing
things more highbrow (OK, *marginally* more highbrow) than songs about
boobs and pee. So here's a compromise: While you're requesting "Hold
On, I've Got to Take This" in a bid to make it #1, please *also*
request "Shakespearean Pie" in a bid to make it #25. That's not so
much to ask, now, is it?

Incidentally, Chris, if you're reading this: I recently pulled into
the public parking complex at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco, and
a helpful prerecorded voice thanked me for doing so and reminded me to
hold on to my receipt and check out on Level 3. I could swear that
that helpful prerecorded voice was YOUR helpful prerecorded voice.
Seriously. It freaked me out a little bit. So.... Was it you?
