Audubon of Florida has a volunteer Eagle Watch program to monitor nests
around the state. Our local chapter, Audubon of Martin County, had its
annual orientation meeting this morning, and we had a special guest.
Sparky survived a collision with a power line, but permanently injured
his wing. He now lives at Busch Wildlife Sanctuary in Jupiter, FL. His
friend Amy brought him to our meeting, and I took some photos.

Hey Jim,

Wonderful photos that clearly show how large this magnificent bird is.
The University of Minnesota has a raptor center, and while there have
been many successes in rehabilitating eagles and other raptors, there
are still a few raptors that have become "house birds".
BTW: Nice web site!

I second that!

They're like the claws on my parrot but much more so... On the whole, I think
it's less dangerous living with the parrot.

Jim, great photos. Now, please write me privately (just hit "reply"). We
know each other from about 15 years ago when you instructed me on how to
wind a toroid for my MFJ transmatch. :-)
