I just saw a few links to bird pictures posted over in newsgroup
alt.support.diabetes:
From Australia:
We discovered that Magpie Larks (aka Pee-wits) in mating
season are drawn to their own reflections. In size they are
a little smaller than a city pigeon:

We had a particular one who would incessantly perch in the
window sill and then fly up and attack his own reflection.
Again, and again for hours if we didn't go out and shoo him
off. Then he would return an hour later. We finally cured
him by making the sill unsuitable for him to perch on.
No sooner had we fixed him than a male fairy wren started
doing the same thing at the bedroom window from an hour
before dawn, usually joined about dawn by his three wives.
They are tiny birds, but can still make quite a noise when
hammering on your window:

The girl wears brown:

I had to manufacture an external bird-screen to sort him and
his family out.
From the UK:
This is what's hanging round my garden atm - a little flock of 9 of
them; they generally arrive around lunchtime, which is very kind of
them!
