Has anyone ever seen a cat carrier with a bottom that slides out? This would
make it easier to get a reluctant cat out of it"s carrier. I can envision
such a carrier, but I can't seem to find anyone who makes it. |

But then my vet has a better idea......she actually takes the cover |
off the cat carrier to remove the cat.
Makes it easier when the cat defies gravity to stay in the case when
you tip it on it's side. |

I don't believe you need a removable bottom. Cat comes out just as easy when
you tip the carrier on it's side or roll it upside down. That being said, I
use a cloth carrier that uses an inserted heavy duty cardboard bottom to
maintain its shape when in use.
The cloth carrier unzips at the end for cat insertion cat removal or unzips
simultaneously by dual zippers at the top to open it fully all at once.
Another nice thing is that the entire carrier folds down fairly flat when
the cardboard bottom is lifted to the inside top of the carrier. The sides
then fold in and it collapses flat. Great for storage as compared to solid,
bulky plastic carriers.

Yeah, me too, but I'm sneaky about it. Usually, the only time Deetoo needs
to go into the carrier is when I'm taking her to the Vet. So, the night
before I leave the carrier out and put a few pieces of kibble in it. In the
morning, the kibble is gone and Deetoo is comfortable with the carrier until
I pick her up for a nuzzle or two and then I suddenly stuff her in the
carrier. |

That's *really* sneaky. Then again, cats themselves can be really
sneaky. |
